Product description:
During constipation: increases the stool volume and shortens stool transit time
During diarrhoea: binds fluids, which prolongs stool transit time.
It also reduce serum cholesterol level.
Indications:
Habitual constipations; pregnancy; illnesses during which soft stool is required (haemorrhoidal disorders, anal fissures, after surgeries on anus and rectum); slimming treatments; in various kinds of diarrhoea and as an auxiliary medication in intestinal irritation.
Counterindications
Pathological narrowing of the alimentary canal, life-threatening and existing intestinal obstruction, difficult to control diabetes. The product is not recommended in strong diarrhoea with accompanying fever.
Side effects:
Not observed.
Precautionary measures
In isolated case there may appear symptoms of oversensitivity to the powder of the powdered husk. One should pay attention to simultaneous copious intake of fluids. One should leave a time interval of 30-60 minutes after taking other medicines. As an auxiliary treatment of diarrhoea, if diarrhoea persists for more than 2-3 days and is accompanied by fever, one should see a doctor.
Interactions
In case of simultaneous oral administration of medicines their absorption may be delayed. As for diabetics who are on insulin therapy there may be a necessity of lowering insulin dose.
Preparation
Mix one spoon of husk or the content of the sachet with at least 150 ml (¾ of glass) of water, juice, yoghurt or cereals, blend well and drink. Husk may be also added to food and washed down wit 150 ml of fluid.
Administration
Take in the morning and in the evening with a copious amount of water. Daily dose: 4-20 mg.
